This article will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to install Turf Beacons on your equipment
1. CHOOSE A LOCATION TO INSTALL THE BEACON
The best spot to install the Beacon is on top of the ROPS. Beacons must be
installed so that they have a clear view of the sky to enable good GPS reception.
DO NOT install a beacon under the engine cowling as engine temperatures will
damage the device.
2. INSTALL THE BEACON
Clean a spot on the TOP of the machine ROPS with a degreaser and attach the
Beacon by peeling off the paper exposing the adhesive of the Velcro fastener.
To ensure the Beacon stays in contact with the ROPS, install a zip tie around
the ROPS to further secure the Beacon. Use zip ties to secure the cable to the
ROPS.
3. CONNECT POWER TO THE BEACON
Connect the red and black wires to the cable to your machine 12vdc power
source (A power source that is ‘always on’). Then connect the white wire
to a wire on the machine that is only powered when the ignition switch is on.
4. LOG INTO TURF ASSISTANT TO
COMPLETE ACTIVATION
Log into Turf Assistant with your username and password to assign a ‘friendly
ID’ to each machine and activate each Turf Beacon.
